boo!
after resting for one day i've finally got over the trauma of the INTERVIEW!!
Firstly, i want to say that it is NOT a good idea to have Three INTERVIEWS in a row!! especially when the interviewers are out to GRILL you! it's really traumatising! :S and for all you people out there who have upcoming interview please please reschedule if the schedule is tight! :)
Okies, let me see...hmm...shall start with dentistry first! So, yesterday i went down to the faculty of dentistry in NUH early in the morning and went for my forst interview! Point one, i think i wasnt really very awake. Point two, i have zrero preparedness! so, you can expect the outcome, i dont really need to elaborate on how disastrous it was. But the shocking thing was i didnt prepare myself for the most obvious question that thay will ask: WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM THE REST OF THE CANDIDATES? it was qiite duh that they will ask but yet i didnt prepare for it! what was i thinking?
Ok, so after the dentistry inetrview i supposedly had an hour's break before my next grilling session for med faculty. So i happily( or not so happily) made my way to NUS Yong Loo Lin sch of Medicine to take my interview. But! Situation number 2: i reached there too early and was requested to take the slot before mine because the previous candidate isnt here yet! so being traumatised my the previous interview and almost brain dead, i got called in for the interview.
Now, we've come to the first round of medicine interview. I went in and greeted the interviewers, ie 3 professors.
For the first prof, this was the dialogue:
Prof: So, can you tell me the name of the school?Me: Yong Loo Lin School of medicineProf: So, tell me,who's Yong Loo Lin?Me: ??? er........... I;m not too sure but i'll guess that it's the founder?Prof: Dont guess! nvm, then which aniversary is the school celebrating now?Me: Um....so rry, I dont knowProf: then what's the dean;s name?Me: er.....Prof: So you've come to an interview without knowing a single thing about our school?Me: [still stumped]Prof: then what did you see when u came into the building?and then again i didnt pay much attention to the building because i was sooo super nervous and traumatised my the dentistry people!and more questions which i shant mention here to bore you:) but the thing is that i actually read about the school befoe but as usual i forgot about it!oh and later he asked about when do the med students study paediatrics which i read abotu and forgot again:(
And the second prof asked me about the healthcare issue in the elections and me, being an uninformed cartton watching couch potato who doesnt watch the news, didnt know what she was asking! and sigh
The third prof was the nicer one and asked about working woman and compassion. I like her! think she probably sympathised with me and decided to let me off (THANKEW!)
Then, i had the round 2 interview for medicine! This time it was 2 medical personnels, doctors medical students or nurses. Think i got 2 Doctors. By now, i was already having the bochup feeling, after 2 sessions of grilling. But it turned out relatively ok :) Oh and they are the nicest interviewers for the day! I LOVE THEM =] but the funny thing was, they found my CCA funny, whyee? it's just a normal sport.
OK, so that was how my interview went! HORRIBLE! because half the time i was trying to recover from shock and didnt even reply properly! And for the rest of the day i kept thinking about the terrifying experience and my ppor friends had to hera me go on ranting about it! THANK YOU for listening! (especially cheryl-- the poor girl had to listen to me talk through the entire lunch! I'm so sorry!)
So after spending one entire day thinking about it, I am fine alr! finally got it out of my head :)
People keep telling me that maybe it was'nt as bad as it looked. Maybe, I hope so! But, right now i'm just thankful that it's over! I;m free! yay!!!! and I pray that whatever outcome there is, i will be able to accept it. He who noes me best will have the best plans for me! :)
As for those who are having their interviews, JIAYOU! and all the best
