booooooooooooooooooo!

I'm looking forward to thursday, because it's 4 day week this week! yay! I jus looooove holidays :)2 more days!

Things are getting quite monotonous at work.I do almost the same stuff everyday. Run gel. cast gel.harvest cells. run gel. again.sigh. I can't imagine doing the rest of my life if i venture into research. It's kind of boring, especially when i have no idea what i am doin and why i am doing it, to get what kind of results.And when the experiment doesn't work out, it gets quite depressing. Today i had a funny blot again. sigh. Weird things always happen to me. I know whats the problem. ME. my poor mentor, he'd probably survive better without me. He's an extremely nice person, and i thank God for that :) :)

Sometimes i really feel that my mentor is too nice and he is always bullied by the boss.The people in my lab are feeling quite low nowadays. Seems like the 'battle' between them and our boss is getting tougher each day and they just get more and more depressed and lose the motivation to pursue their interest. It's really a pity seeing people like my mentor, who are really good scientists, giving up their passion because they met a lousy boss.Most of my lab people are christians but many have stopped going to church. :( I think it's partly because boss expects them to work on Sundays too, though it's really not a valid reason for not going church. Now, most of them are feeling quite fed up and they feel like they have no hope in life. ( yes, it seems to be that serious.)My mentor used to come in for work at 8am but go home at 12 midnight. His work hours are crazy! Now that he is fed up with the boss, he sort of shortened his wrking hrs to 12 hrs per day, which is still alot. And the amazing thing is that they come back on weekends and PUBLIC HOLIDAYS too. And boss comes in to patrol around the lab 3 times a day to check on people. Sometimes my mentor will get called into hos office 2 or 3 times a day and it gets quite irritating. If you want your people to produce results for you, you should at least let them do their work in peace instead of keep interrupting them for no reason. And it's not like they are not producing results. There's an air of unhappiness in the lab and the only thing i can do is to pray for them, and the boss.I'll keep praying. =]I know God will have a plan for them, in His time.
